Who we are
English is not a subject to memorise. It is a skill to live.
Bridge Academy is a personal development English academy in Mandalay. Every course we run is built speaking-first: the lesson prepares you, and the live classroom is where you speak.
Our pathway is one clear ladder from complete beginner to advanced: Foundation, Essential, Fluent and Intensive English, with IELTS Foundation and IELTS Preparation for exam goals, and Bridge Juniors for ages 9 to 15. Each stage exits exactly where the next begins, so your progress is structured and measurable.
Classes are small, ten to fifteen people, six hours a week. Every student takes a placement test before joining, and gets a written report at the end of every part. On the programs that run in two parts there is a checkpoint at week twelve that decides whether you carry on. Nobody moves up because time passed. You move up because you can do the next thing.
We teach on campus at 72nd Street x 32B and online on Discord, on weekdays and at the weekend, so a working adult, a university student and a nine-year-old can all find a slot.

I started Bridge Academy with a clear purpose: to change what young people in Myanmar can do with English.
To help them move from knowing words to expressing ideas. From holding back to joining the conversation. From studying English to using it in their lives.

Before you join.
Short answers. For anything else, message us on Telegram and a person replies, usually the same day.
Can I start from zero?
Yes. Foundation English starts with the alphabet, sounds and your first sentences. Everyone is placed before joining, including complete beginners, so the class fits their level.
What if I am shy about speaking?
You practise step by step. Essential, Fluent and Intensive lessons begin with a pair warm-up, then build through guided practice toward longer speaking tasks, with teacher feedback.
What happens if I miss a class?
There are no make-up classes, and watching a recording does not count as attending. Students must attend at least 85% of instructional hours in each part. Choose a schedule you can attend regularly.
How do I join?
Request a seat or take the placement test online or at the school. A consultant confirms your level, available class and time slot. Your first payment secures the seat, and our team completes your registration. Most programs are paid in three parts.
Do I have to take the placement test?
Yes, everyone is placed before joining, including complete beginners. It is free and it is how we make sure the room is at your level.
How big is a class, and how often does it meet?
Ten to fifteen people, and six hours a week either way. Weekday classes are one ninety-minute lesson a day, Monday to Thursday. Weekend classes are a single three-hour class on each of Saturday and Sunday. In the school holiday season, Foundation English and Juniors Foundation follow the government school calendar instead, so check the timetable before you come. IELTS groups are smaller, up to eight.
How do online classes work?
Live on Discord with the same teacher, the same lesson and the same small group, on weekday evenings and at the weekend. You need a phone or laptop with a camera and a quiet corner. Make a Discord account and verify it before your first class, then our admin sends you an invite and helps you into the right group. You do not have to find your own way in.
What ages are the classes for?
Bridge Juniors is its own line, for ages 9 to 15 in three stages: Juniors Foundation 9 to 11, Juniors Communication 11 to 13, Juniors Fluency 13 to 15. The adult ladder is separate: Essential English is for 15 to 17, Fluent English for 15 to 20, and Intensive English for 20 and over, with Foundation English for adult complete beginners. A child in Bridge Juniors is not in an adult class. The one crossing point is the top: students who finish Juniors Fluency continue into Fluent English, which is why it starts at 15.
How do I know I am making progress?

When can I visit the school?
The front desk is open 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and closed on Fridays, at 72nd Street x 32B. Classes run later than the desk, so check the timetable if you want to watch one, or ask us for a seat in one and we will tell you when to come.
